The Final Tiding

Friday Tidings began in 2011 with the simple tagline “Thoughts for the journey.” Friday became a place to pause, perhaps remember something special, or look ahead with hope.

Along the way, I met some incredibly inspiring people—like Dale, the WWII veteran, and JJ, a 25-year-old cancer patient, who set out on a “Saying Thank you Tour”—for all those who had helped her along the way.

Their stories, and so many others, reminded me of the resilience, kindness, and grace that surround us every day.

I didn’t realize how much it all would mean to me—how much I cared about each week’s post.

Every Friday, I tried to find something small but worth seeing—or something that reminded us to be grateful.

Many of you have been faithful readers. Your comments, encouragement, and shared stories often came at the just the right time. More than once, your words gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to keep searching for the next Friday’s story.

After much thought and prayer, I’ve decided this will be the final Friday Tidings.

Not because the stories have ended, but because seasons change. Part of faithful living is recognizing when it is time to close one chapter and trust God with the next.

As Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds me:

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”

This season has been a gift.

There may not be another Friday Tidings, but I hope we’ll all continue watching for grace tucked into ordinary moments, for goodness hidden in small stories and for reminders that hope is never far away.

I will be forever grateful for the companionship we’ve shared every Friday.

Saying “thank you” for traveling this journey with me seems hardly enough, but it comes from the deepest part of my heart.

Keep looking for the stories. They’re still all around us.
